STEM, the arts & music

A well-rounded education gives every child more than one way to discover what they’re good at.

Draft content for review. Final positions and wording will be confirmed with Dennis.

Where Dennis stands

Strong test scores matter — and so does the science lab, the band room, and the art class. Hands-on STEM, the arts, and music keep students engaged, build teamwork and persistence, and give kids who don’t see themselves in a textbook a place to shine. Dennis, a lifelong musician, has helped the board expand these opportunities, and he wants to keep going.

Priorities

  • Expand hands-on STEM — labs, robotics, and project-based learning — across grade levels.
  • Keep music and visual and performing arts a real part of every school, not an add-on.
  • Grow partnerships with local organizations that bring arts and science into classrooms.
  • Make sure every campus has fair access to these programs.
Every kid deserves the chance to find the thing that makes school click for them.
